The building of the Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition was inaugurated in Gostivar
State University of Tetova today marked one of the greatest achievements since its formalization in 2004.In the presence of a large number of enthusiasts of education, political representatives, diplomatic choir, as well as the university academic staff, in Gostivar, was inaugurated the building of the Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition, which beginning from today, will function in the town of Gostivar.

The Opening ceremony, by cutting the ribbon to this building, was made by SUT Rector, Prof. Dr. Agron Reka, education and science minister, Nikola Todorov, EU Ambassador Erwan Fouere and the leader of DUI, Ali Ahmeti.

The SUT Rector, Prof. Dr. Agron Reka, in front of the audience congratulated all those who were engaged in this project, as he noted, of a major interest of higher education in Albanian. In particular, he thanked the European Union Ambassador Erwan Fouere, who has provided a very valuable contribution to the advancement of democratic processes in our country and the integration of Republic of Macedonia in Euro-Atlantic structures.

"This building built with a lot of efforts and sacrifice, in his premises includes an area of 3250 m2 and has 5 classrooms, a library, 2 laboratories, 20 cabinets for the needs of the academic staff and other offices for the needs of administration of the Faculty.

The Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Macedonia, Nikola Todorov, in his welcoming speech focused on human resources, adding that "Macedonia has no oil resources, diamond mines or else, but it has the potential of knowledge instead". In this case Minister Todorov advised the students to learn, to be active, and persistent in order to compete in the great European academic family.

Ambassador Erwan Fouere, in his welcoming speech focused on Macedonia's European perspective, with special emphasis on scientific profile and wished successes to the students of this faculty in order to be equal to their European peers.

The participants in this solemnity were greeted by the President of Students Parliament of SUT, Shaban Arsllani, who said that the inauguration of the new building of the Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition in the town of Gostivar significantly facilitates the education of new generations and prepares them to face the challenges of the future. The following success we mark today, meets the requirements of the students to continue their studies in contemporary conditions.

The participants in this solemnly were also welcomed by the Rector of the University of Thrakia, Turkey, Prof. Dr. Enver Duran, who on this occasion expressed his willingness to help the Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition in all aspects.

As a sign of respect for the help and support they have provided for SUT, the Rector, Prof. Dr. Agron Reka, awarded with letters of appreciation the leader of DUI, Ali Ahmeti, Minister of Education and Science, Nikolla Todorov, Vice-Minister Lindita Qazimi and the Rector of University of Thrakia, Prof. Dr. Enver Duran.

The Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition currently has two study programs: Food Technology and Nutrition, and very soon is expected the accreditation of the new study program of agriculture.

Within the Faculty will also be built contemporary laboratories of food analysis, which will become a laboratory center, aiming to become an important center of analysis for various food products.

This faculty prepares staff for food production and control, which will be based on modern standards.

It is worth mentioning that the EU Ambassador, in the closing of this activity, in the faculty of the SUT in Gostivar held a working meeting with the Rector, Prof. Dr. Agron Reka, vice-Rector of Education, Prof. Dr. Ismail Ahmeti and the Head of the Office for International Relations, Sehfik Shehu. In this joint meeting was discussed about the deepening of cooperation between SUT and Institutions of the European Union, in order to harmonize the study programs.

For the ongoing support he has given to SUT, the Rector, Prof. Dr. Agron Reka, donated to Ambassador Erwan Fouere a painting by artist Nevzat Kica, professor at the Faculty of Arts in SUT.
