SUT in the International Scientific Conference called "Standard language and dialectal variants"

 

The Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Prof. Dr. Arber Çeliku, took part in the International Scientific Conference, named: Standard language and dialectal variants, which was organized by the Faculty of Philology and History, Department of Linguistics, University of Tirana. With their papers in this scientific conference participated prominent linguists and writers from Albania, Kosovo, Italy and Macedonia: Prof. Dr. Shezai Rokaj, Prof. Dr. Ethem Likaj, Prof. Dr. Shefki Islami, Prof. Dr. Rami Memushaj, Prof. Dr. Gjovalin Shkurtaj, Prof. Dr. Mimoza Gjokutaj, Prof. Dr. Gianni Belluscio, Prof. Dr. Imri Badallaj, Prof. Dr. Bardh Rugova, etc. Besides these distinguished scientists, the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Prof. Dr. Arbër Çeliku was presented with paper titled: Ohrid Agreement, an important factor in extending the standard Albanian language in the whole state pyramid of the Republic of Macedonia. During his referral, Prof. Çeliku  robustly reflected the problem of the use of standard language in the R. of Macedonia, referring to the period before the Ohrid Agreement, where the Albanian language had only the status of minority language and the use of standard Albanian language after signing the Ohrid Frame Agreement, when Albanian language began to have a wider use: in state administration, in the Parliament, in the media, in the universities, which means that the Albanian language is gradually gaining the status of bilingualism in the Republic of Macedonia. Prof. Dr. Arbër Çeliku, on the occasion of the aforementioned Conference, on the same day, took part in the television debate in TVSH, titled the Use of the standard language nowadays, along with Prof. Dr. Shezai Rokaj Prof. Dr. Gianni Belluscio, Prof. Dr. Valter Memishaj, Prof. Dr. Aljula Jubani and Prof. Dr. Mimoza Priku, in which debate he has admirably represented the State University of Tetova
