Prof. Dr. Agron Reka is elected Rector of SUT

 

The Senate of the State University of Tetova, in the meeting held on 21.01.2010, with secret votes elected the latest acting rector Prof. Dr. Agron Reka Rector of SUT, for the next four-year mandate.  

 

 

At the beginning of the meeting the Senate of SUT, appointed the Election Commission, consisted of Doc. Dr. Fatbi Osmani - president, Doc. Dr. Hajri Ziba and Doc. Dr. Ferat Polisi, members.

 

 

After the confirmation of the exact number of Senate members present at the meeting, as well as the confirmation of the only candidacy for Rector of SUT, the members of the Senate, with secret voting, elected Prof. Dr. Agron Reka, the latest acting rector, Rector of SUT for the next four-year mandate 2010 -2014. For the election of Prof. Dr. Agron Reka, Rector of SUT voted all 16 members of the Senate present at the meeting, none of them was against and none of them abstained.

 

 

Previously, the Rectorate’s Council of SUT held a meeting, which found that all legal conditions for election of the Rector of SUT were fulfilled and that for this post there is only one candidate, that of the recent acting rector, Prof. Dr. Agron Reka, because the other candidate Prof. Dr. Agim Vela, did not participate in elections for the Rector of SUT.  

 

 

According to Rector Reka, his main priority will be "improving of the academic staff for effective implementation of modern interactive teaching methods, to attract the talented students from high schools.

 

 

Among the priorities of the Rector, Prof. Dr. Agron Reka is the finishing of new buildings of SUT faculties, the completion of construction of the building of the Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition in Gostivar, the completion of construction of the Faculty of Law building in Tetovo, the completion of construction of the building of the Faculty of Economics in Tetovo and the beginning of the preparation of technical project of building of SUT campus in Tetovo.

 

Special importance Dr. Agron Reka will pay to the international cooperation through participati in programs like: Tempus, Erasmus, Socrates etc.
