Italian Government supports SUT building the biotechnological laboratory

16 November, 2007(Friday)-On a solemn ceremony, in the amphitheatre of SUT, was made the handover of the donation from the Italian Government, represented by the Italian ambassador in Macedonia, His Excellency Mr. Donatino Marcon, to the State University of Tetova, dedicated to the construction and equipment of the laboratory with instruments for the needs of the Faculty of food technology and nutrition.

Present were also the Minister of Education and Science of Macedonia, Mr. Sulejman Rushiti, head of mission of IMG, Mr. Paolo Leoni, co-coordinator of the project, Mr. Argjend Karai, high representatives from other universities, professors and students. Building the laboratory with the help from Italian Government, with co investments from the SUT side reaches an amount of half a million euros. Major part of this fund is a donation from Italian Government, a project implemented by IMG( International Management Group).    

The project “Building the Laboratory for the needs of  Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition” is  part of the program” Pilot activities for education and culture” of the Italian Government for the Republic of Macedonia. The Rector of SUT, Prof. Dr. Sadi Bexheti said that he is very grateful and thankful for this donation. ”This day opens new footways of co-operation between the SUT and Italian Government and deepens the co-operation with Macedonian Government, and by doing these activities, this university one more time testifies that is an institution valuable to invest.

This project represents continuity of the continuous commitment of the managing staff of SUT that continues after two previous projects, building the Faculty of Applied Sciences building in Gostivar and the sports hall in Tetova, and this is a witness of the serious engagement of the leadership of SUT”, said Rector Bexheti. on the other side, the Italian Ambassador in Macedonia, his Exellency, Mr. Donatino Marcon put it like this: ”The purpose of this donation is to stimulate higher education towards development and progress.   

The donation in SUT is part of project of Italian Government for Macedonian Government, a project mainly focused in domain of higher education. There will also be engagements for the use of books in Italian, within this project.” The Minister Rushiti on this occasion before the present said: ”Ministry of Education and Science supported all activities, projects, ideas coming from the side of  State University of Tetova, with purpose of continuity of  reforms, a path that leads to a more prosperous and better future.” Expressing gratitude to the Italian Government for the donation, Mr. Rushiti added:” We should help and fund the education  to develop the creativity, gaining higher results and standards”. Furthermore the presents visited the area where the building will be built(the lab)and held a press conference. The lab will offer the students of Faculty of food Technology and nutrition the opportunity to make research, making the State University of Tetova a research center.
