University Debate: Rector with students

Second Debate for this year, organized by State University of Tetova and Radio Television of Macedonia, program in Albanian language was with the subject: “Sate University of Tetova, achievements, challenges, plans and strategy.” Debate was held between the rector and students.

Rector Bexheti informed students about the progress of the university during the last year and for the plans of the future. He informed them for the accreditation of 10 faculties with 29 studding programs and with 85 directions from the 4 which were before. He expressed: from the first day we started with big enthusiasm and together with our cooperators and our professors this enthusiasm is growing up more.

He also informed them for the spaces that actually University has and for all those difficulties that university had on this issue. He said that all one year they worked in this issue and they had their properties for the university. Ministry of Education and Science provided us the building in Gostivar, where now is Faculty of Applied Sciences,  in the buildings of ex-Workers University soon will be transferred our Faculty of Philology.

In the strategic plan, with the support of Government and partners public-private we will build university campus with centre for students, hostel for students, students canteen, we will finish the building for faculty of Law and Economy, will be build the laboratory of biotechnology, new building for technical fields with all the equipment, sports hall and other buildings that students will need.
In the questions that how important are the cooperations with other high educational institutions, Rector answered that European Union had determined criterion for application that is necessary three or more universities to compete for projects and for the funds of EU. This criterion force the universities to cooperate with each other for the unification and approaching the curriculums so they can share projects and make transfer or academic staff and students and same time will enable students to choose institution that he thinks is more qualitative.    
Regarding the postgraduate studies, Rector informed students soon will be accreditation of master studies.  We intentionally delayed the initiation of master studies because to be correct with students who study by Bologna program and like this to avoid master studies of old times. Now students with three year programs will continue master studies in duration of 2 years and those with 4 years programs will continue master studies in duration of 1 year. Master studies will be in the specialized fields, which are compatible with requests of country, region and Europe.
In the debate were discussed also for the teaching staff, professors progress, diplomas ect.
Regarding the issue about the scientific titles, Rector expressed that is very wrong that is not known the title professor for some professors, but he is very optimist that this problem very soon will be chosen. About diplomas, rector informed students that diploma already started to be prepared and in the next month they will be given to students. Before has been lot of misapplications and to avoid this we had to work continuously.  
New diplomas are protected with code system. For those students that already took their diplomas will be information in the university web site, in which we will announce the list of the students that really graduate and the commission proved their graduation.
