University Debate with vice-president of Albanian Democratic Party, Mr. Menduh Thaci and journalists

In Thursday ( 21 June 2007),in the last edition of the University Debate for this season, which is organized by SUT and RTM, the program in Albanian language  was invited vice-president of Albanian Democratic Party, Mr. Menduh Thaci and most eminent journalists of the written and electronic media from Macedonia : Snezhana Lupevska from the Television A1, Arben Ratkoceri, from they daily newspaper KOHA; Harun Ibrahimi, correspondent of BBC,  Agim Mehmeti, analiyt in the politic ; Bobi Hristov from the  Television ALSAT and Liljana Georgieva from the Television SITEL.

Vice-president of ADP, Mr. Menduh Thaci was in a direct confrontation with the journalist and they had an attractive debate about the actual situation of politics.
Generally the subjects of discussion were about the existence or non existence of the political crisis in Macedonia, for the agreement Ahmeti-Gruevski, for the reorganization of the leading structure of ADP and Congress of Party which is expected to be held soon, if the status of martyrs and war invalids will find a solution, and other actual subjects discussed by the journalists, professors and students, who were present in the Amphitheater of SUT.

In the question if there are any politic crises in Macedonia, Mr.Menduh Thaci answered that there are no politic crises, even so how this is interpreted and who is interpreting, and if we call it as crises, than we can say that these crises are since long time, since year 2001 when the democratic rules were suspended, and someone made a step through non politic methods, mainly through an armed revolution to impose its program and platform.

According to him the crucial problems, fundamental rights of Albanians in Macedonia haven’t find any solution yet, especially in two very important issues: issue of killed people and victims of year 2001 and official application of Albanian language. According to him politic crises is the moment when it is not possible to function state institutions, while this is democratic process and we can not call it politic crisis.

Mr. Thaci expressed that Politic Crisis can come only if Albanian Democratic Party take a decision not to be part of government; the other part is transparent democratic game and is tolerated for the parties to discus with each other. Meantime Mr.Thaci greets the returning of DUI in the parliament, disregarding the contradictions and disagreements in the politic contests.

Regarding the issue for killed people and victims, Mr.Menduh Thaci expressed that Albanian Democratic Party required that this issues to be chosen by Law, in which the citizens of Macedonia who were harmed in year 2001 to be compensate same as other Macedonian citizens and not to be chosen by the existing law, different social assistance, with reasoning to create judicial equilibration and also compensation and it ends with the compatibility of the both sides.   
Regarding the agreement DUI –VMRO, Mr.Thaci expressed that it is not agreement, but is a compatibility to continue a process. This is attempting to reduce the negotiating power of ADP. The Albanian Democratic Party react because wasn’t agree with this style of choosing a problem, ADP proposed that this issue to be chosen with correct and honest work  between the 4 eminent politic forces so they can achieve an agreement.
Regarding the issue of official application of Albanian language, Mr.Thaci said that the head of ADP are the most competent, more informed and they know better that what the premise of application of Albanian language was. In the question that if there had been intervention concerning SUT, Islam Unity and others, Mr.Thaci answered:" something that has been decayed should be cut." These phenomenon deviations were destroyer for the Albanians future so the intervention was reasonable and it ended with law. According to him, Rector of SUT is chief of this institution and he is amenable for the organs. ADP will be institutional and judicial barrier and will prevent criminalization of this institution.
According to Mr.Thaci, the priority of ADP in the war against the crime was against the brutality, against the people that were realizing their purposes by arms, against killers, removal from the territories, bringing them in front of the justice, displacement of these groups from the very important institutions for Albanians like: SUT, Islam Unity and others.
Regarding the issue of Kosova and Independence, Mr. Thaci expressed that Macedonia should be stabilized, constructive towards finalization of this historical process. Kosova will be neighbor country of Macedonia and no one can deny the common interest that Albanians have. Mr.Thaci also informed us about the reforms in the ADP, in which they give priority to youth and for many other subjects such as integration of Macedonia in NATO.

Present in the debate were also Rector of SUT, prof. Dr. Sadi Bexheti, vice-president of Macedonia Government, Mr. Imer Aliu, Minister of Education and Science, Mr. Sulejman Rushiti, Minister of Culture, Mr. Arifikmet Xhemaili ect.
